Year 2 have been learning about Southend as part of our Geography lessons. We used a map of the United Kingdom to find out where Southend is. We talked about the benefits of living near the seaside such as playing on the beach and making sandcastles! We decided to go and take a look at some of the physical and human features of Southend for ourselves. We also had the special treat of going to visit the RNLI Station to find out all about their work. Linda and Richard gave us a fantastic tour and we were allowed to climb aboard the hovercraft. The best bit was being able to dress up as crew members – it was so much fun!
